Youth Mass in Altenberg

A beautifully sung mass for all youths in N.R.W., at an idyllic location in city of Altenberg. Usually the mass takes places in the open on the church grounds and young people of multiple age groups, nationalities and cultures come together to make a beautiful celebration. After mass, everyone shares something to drink and a bite, usually barbecue. Families and children are very welcome. We always travel as community and this requires planning long ahead, so please register with our secretary after mass. Meeting point: Bus stop Friedhofskirche, Elberfeld

Pilgrimage to Kevelaer

Annual Pilgrimage to Kevelaer. We warmly invite you to join our annual parish pilgrimage to Kevelaer, one of Germany's most cherished places of Marian devotion. We always make this pilgrimage on July 26th, the feast day of Saints Anna and Joachim, the parents of the Our Lady, the grandparents of Jesus. This year, it falls on a Sunday, making it a special opportunity for the whole community to travel, pray, and celebrate together. Please note that we will have no Sunday Mass, as our parish will celebrate the Holy Mass together in Kevelaer. We encourage all parishioners, families, and friends to take part in this meaningful day of faith and fellowship. Our pilgrimage is a time for prayer, reflection, and renewal, as we entrust ourselves and our loved ones to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. We look forward to sharing this special journey with you and strengthening our community through worship, friendship, and our common faith. For this journey, we organize travel as a community so please register as soon as possible with, our community secretary. Departure: Friedhofskirche Bus stop, Elberfeld Wuppertal. Holy Mass
WeeklyHoly Mass is celebrated every Sunday at 1:15 pm, except on special occasions when it is moved to 12:00 pm, or replaced by a general parish Mass, in which case it does not take place. The location may also change on special days, so staying in touch with parish announcements is important to remain informed.
Rosary & Adoration
MonthlyWe pray the Rosary and adore the Blessed Sacrament on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 5:00 pm. All are warmly invited to join this time of deep prayer and reflection, where we come together in devotion, silence, and worship before the Lord, strengthening our faith and spiritual life.
Community Feasts
AnnuallyEvery year we celebrate the Feast of the Sacred Heart as our parish feast. On October 3rd, we also hold an International Mass with many nationalities present, expressing unity in faith, cultural diversity, and shared worship. These celebrations strengthen bonds within the community and deepen our sense of belonging.
Pilgrimages
AnnuallyEach year we go on pilgrimage to Kevelaer, a place of Marian devotion, and to Cologne Cathedral to venerate the relics of the Three Kings, among other sacred sites. These journeys are moments of prayer, reflection, and fellowship that deepen our faith and strengthen our sense of community and spiritual identity.
